Film camera captures
Back in March 2016 I worked on a large scale mix media piece with Luc Waring. The piece was for his solo exhibition in Brick Lane, London. These shots were captured by Luc on his 35mm camera of our progress. We stitched it over two days and one long night! Listening to strange pod casts and drinking lots of coffee. We worked hard and finished it in time to be exhibited! This artwork is now sold.
15th August 2016! 'Parlour Noir' opened the doors and welcomed everyone! One year of planning, designing, embroidering, teaching and for it to all finally come together to create 'Parlour Noir'. It sure is a good feeling! I have to say I couldn't be happier or more excited to be launching my website! This is just the beginning!
'Nude on the Roof' workshop. Dalston Roof Park, Summer 2016.
It was probably the first hot day we had this summer, which was lucky for us being on a roof top looking over London! This workshop was about stitching the naked body, taking hand embroidery away from its traditional roots. We used Daily Sport newspaper's from the 1990's to create our templates. Transferring our templates to various materials, I then taught the group several stitching techniques to use to embroider their drawings. We laughed, we stitched, we created and what great results! We also went home with a sun tan! Many thanks to these guys for attending and to Andrea's at flinkable for hosting the workshop and capturing it all on camera!
